Do Creative World Schools have internet viewing available for parents?
Do Creative World Schools have internet viewing available for parents? At this time, we are not confident in the security of this type of monitoring. We believe very strongly in the confidentiality and privacy of our children and families. As this technology progresses, we will investigate integrating it into our programs.
We do, however, encourage parents to view their children within the classroom at any time. We have monitoring systems in every classroom and parents are welcome to come in and observe their child. In addition, we place viewing windows throughout our building, in between classrooms, so there is plenty of opportunity to observe and monitor classrooms.

What is Creative World's guidance policy?
Our discipline of children provides for positive guidance, redirection, and the setting of limits. When children receive positive, non-violent and understanding interactions from adults and peers, they develop good self-concepts, problem-solving abilities, and self-discipline. Based on this belief, we do not allow any form of corporal punishment, verbal abuse or any discipline that would involve withholding food, rest or toileting.
How does Creative World teach ABCs to children?
Creative World uses a variety of techniques to teach literacy to children. We believe in introducing letters to children in a variety of ways. Songs, stories, puppets and finger plays offer children an interactive and fun way to learn the alphabet. Books are available throughout the classroom to encourage literacy and reading. Children are offered a variety of tools and materials to use to develop their prewriting skills.
What is the Exploratorium™?
Our most unique feature! Click here to learn more.
What can I do at home to extend my child's learning?
Creative World teachers work closely with parents and regularly send home projects and activities for families to work on together in order to further their child's learning and have the opportunity to participate in our program together. Each month we send home a curriculum newsletter, Parent Share to help you connect with our monthly learning goals. Download our Parent Share.
We love books! Almost as much as we love reading books, we also treasure the opportunity to share our favorites! Below is a list of some of our favorite books for parents and children:
Einstein Never Used Flash Cards: How Our Children Really Learn-- And Why They Need to Play More and Memorize Less by Hirsh-Pasek, Golinkoff and Eyer
Why don't Creative World teachers have desks in their rooms?
We pride ourselves on the fact that our teachers take a hands-on approach to learning. Teachers are constantly interacting with the children to encourage their learning.
Can I bring my child's favorite toy from home?
During your child's transition to the school or a new classroom, they are welcome to bring a security toy such as a stuffed animal or special blanket to be used during naptime to help comfort them until they are more familiar with their new school. Occasionally your child's teacher may request that families bring a special book or prop to share with the class that supports the classroom theme investigation.
Will my child have access to a computer?
Computers are located in all preschool age classrooms for children to utilize during Enriching Play. The computers are equipped with age appropriate educational software.
What if my child takes medication?
Medication, including any over the counter products, can only be administered with the written permission of a physician. In addition, a medication form must be filled out by a parent. Please help us secure all medications by handing the medicine to a member of management so we can lock it in our medication box.
What if my child has food allergies?
At Creative World, we want to ensure every child's safety. If your child has any food allergies please notify the school immediately so we can add your child to our school allergy list. Our menu is available for parents to review. Substitutions will be made when possible; however parents must provide a substitute if one is not available.
What if my child becomes ill during the day?
At the first sign of illness, the staff at your child's school will contact you. Our schools closely follow the license regulations on exclusion of children due to health issues. If your child's symptoms are any of those listed, you will be asked to pick up your child. Often, the calls are just courtesy calls that let you know how your child is feeling and give you an opportunity to contact your child's doctor, pick up your child a little early, or make alternate plans for care the next day.
How does Creative World handle potty training?
Teachers in the toddler and two year old classrooms work closely with parents to determine when a child is ready to start potty training both at home and at school. Children are encouraged to regularly attempt to use the toilet or just to try as they are just starting out. As the child experiences more successes, you and your child's teacher will decide when to move from diapers or pull-ups to training pants. Each day you will receive communication that will share each time your child attempted the potty and all their success.

Will my child play outside during extreme weather?
Creative World follows the state license guidelines for outdoor play, which take into account the heat index, air quality rating and wind chill factor. If the weather is falls in the extreme of these indicators, children will participate in gross motor activities in their classroom.
If it is too cold or too hot outside, can my child stay inside?
Keeping children safe and healthy is very important to Creative World. Outdoor activities provide an important time for children to engage in physical activity while building their large muscles. Children should play outside for thirty minutes twice a day to give them fresh air and opportunities that only outside times can provide. The covered porches and shade structures on all of our playgrounds provide shelter from the sun, wind and cold allowing the children to enjoy their time outside on those days the weather is less than ideal but still falls within the guidelines.
Why do Creative World children eat lunch in their classrooms?
Our teachers purposefully enjoy "Family Style" meals with their children during lunchtime. This is a time of bonding and conversation in a familiar space as well as a great opportunity for the children to learn and practice table manners. Children are able to transition and get ready for their meal by helping set the table and have the time to eat at their own pace. Children are not rushed to finish in order to accommodate another group coming in to a lunchroom. Cafeterias are very efficient for older children, but young children benefit from a more relaxed atmosphere and the freedom to pace their meal.
How do I know your school isn’t just a pretty building? Is there a reason behind the design?
The design of our school building is purposeful and closely integrated with our curriculum and our program goals by providing a rich, stimulating environment. The “pretty” is just a (really great) result of our passion for positive brain development in young children! Research shows that the first 5 years in a child’s life are critical for brain development. Rich experiences improve brain development as they better stimulate and strengthen the brain’s neural network through better synapsis and less pruning. Our unmatched Exploratorium™ is a shining example of how our unique and rich Creative World environment and curriculum create the highest quality educational experience for our students.
In addition to the overall environment of our building, we take every detail into consideration when building a Creative World School.
Here are just a few:
Here Comes The Sun: Did you know that research has shown that natural sunlight improves learning? We have 8 skylights in our Exploratorium™ and every Creative World classroom boasts large windows to let the sun shine in.
Large Amount of Learning Space: You will notice that we have the least amount of management space (offices, etc.) of almost any school – which means more space is available for your child’s learning and a more hands on, involved management staff.
Fully Stocked Classrooms: Compare our classrooms with those of other childcares. You will notice that our rooms are extremely well-equipped with age appropriate equipment. Visit our school and we will be happy to share why they are structured in a certain way, and how they tie into our philosophy, based on latest accepted child development research.
Safety First: Almost the entire indoor tile flooring in our building consists of special tile that is coated with a surface that inhibits the growth and spread of bacteria. Think of this as an “anti-bacterial armor” for your child.
Windows Between Classrooms: Every classroom in our building features windows between the rooms. These allow teachers and management in adjacent rooms to keep an occasional eye on the other room, thereby improving safety. We avoid full glass walls separating classes because we believe they can lead to distraction.
Places To Run and Play: Our school has 4 outdoor play areas which include play equipment that is stationed, not on mulch, but on state-of-the-art bonded rubber surfacing. In addition, we have 3 large concrete shaded areas. All this is in addition to a standalone 1500 square feet multipurpose room/gym! Creative World kids get plenty of exercise to improve their gross motor skills!
No Parent Drop-Off Point At The School Entrance?? This one may be surprising! We believe in the important role parents and caregivers have in the development of their children. Walking your child into their classroom, and picking them up from their classroom at the end of the day, provides so many opportunities to be involved in your child’s education and development. Increased communication between parents and teachers, as well as a chance to see what your child is learning on a daily basis, becomes a solid foundation for social, emotional and educational growth in your child.
What makes Creative World unique?
Food: A USDA balanced healthy lunch (made with whole grains and lean proteins) and 2 healthy snacks are included in full day programs. We offer both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Children with special dietary needs can bring healthy food from home with a note from doctor.
Spanish: Spanish lessons twice a week for 30 minutes are included in our programs.
Hi-Tech: To expose children to new tools and technology, we offer touch screen PCs, smart board technology, and virtually unbreakable special tablets (all with appropriate curriculum and built-in tools that monitor, track, and assess student progress.)
Compared to Montessori: The Montessori method, which is almost a century old, has many elements we love. However, within the last century, there has been tens of thousands of hours of research conducted in child development and we all have an improved understanding of how to better shape the curriculum. Creative World continually seeks to incorporate the latest proven methods of quality early childhood education. Creative World's classrooms allow for small, narrow age-range grouping, which naturally enhances the quality of the age specific developmental experiences the teacher can provide the children. Our inquiry-based curriculum allows teachers to integrate learning across a balanced day and provide experiences that are appropriate for all types of learning styles. We also feel that the teacher-led approach better prepares the child for the structure and methods s/he is likely to experience in the future. On a limited basis – as evidenced by the 3 E's: Foundations for Excellence™ curriculum, we do offer elements of the Montessori Method, as we feel it can have an important role in the overall development of a child. When you visit our website, you will also see we have both corporate and school level accreditations – often from different agencies which ensures we are delivering the quality we say we do.
(*Background: Since Montessori is not trade marked, anyone can claim they offer the real Montessori method. This is where the consumer needs to check if a school is simply “affiliated” or is actually “accredited” -- not by their employee but by an independent accreditation agency. Websites of Montessori schools that are accredited provide detailed explanation of differences between accreditation and affiliation.)
What are the advantages of a franchised school?
In a franchised school, you get the benefit of an Early Learning Educational system that has evolved over many years, across geographic locations, and from multiple owners. The final product your child experiences is a result of the best practices within the context of the school’s curriculum, philosophy and operations.
In addition, Creative World School also has a quality control department that regularly evaluates each franchise location. This is in addition to the State inspections AND the visits of accrediting agencies. The result is an overall high quality of childcare, and you get more for your money!
What is your philosophy of evaluating students? Do you test them?
We do not perform rote testing, which is far more suitable for older school-age children and adults. Based on research, leading agencies agree that testing of children at such an early age is not the best approach.
Most reputable child development agencies recommend a more suitable and comprehensive portfolio-based approach, which is used at Creative World.
