Inquisitive two year olds enjoy daily small group educational experiences. With their teacher as their facilitator,
they will have the opportunity to talk and learn from each other as they explore new content.
Language
Our teachers plan daily small group language activities. We create a balanced approach to literacy by incorporating the following types of activities: Puppets, Felt Stories, Dramatic Play, Emergent Writing, Variety of Books, Emerging ABC Games, Matching Games and Dictation Experiences

Science
Think curiosity. How does it work? Where does it come from? As children wonder about the natural world and how it works, they are engaged in scientific thinking. To encourage this, we introduce tools such a magnifying glass to further their study.

Math
Two year olds use mathematical thinking to understand their world. Through a variety of integrated small groups our teachers facilitate their use of mathematical thinking. How much? How big? How many? What comes next? These are all important math questions that children can explore.

Our Two's classrooms have a variety of learning centers that allow children to plan their play.
Blocks and building, imaginary play, math and science, language, music, art and sensory centers provide a rich learning environment.
By adding special enrichments, we are expanding the children's play and engaging them in new types of experiences.
Props
Two year olds are inspired by various types of props and the simplest addition can make them excited and curious. Through the addition of props, our monthly themes come alive and encourage pretend play. Hats, puppets, magazines, empty food containers...the possibilities are unlimited. We rotate our enrichments to capture children's interest and make each day new and exciting.

Our teachers make up playful learning games such as dumping small toys into a basket or making a tower. This type of simple, fun game is demonstrating a new way of playing. We view these learning games as rich learning opportunities that encourage all types of learning. Our teachers also closely observe and individualize their teaching to challenge each child. These learning games provide opportunities for children to practice important social skills; emerging sharing, turn-taking, listening, following directions and empathy.

Open Ended Materials
What are open ended materials? Objects and materials that can be manipulated and used by a child in creative ways. Some examples include boxes, paper, tubes, plastic lids, fabric scraps, etc. Not only do children love to explore these materials, but as they experiment and combine them in different ways, they are also learning.

Creative Art
Art for two year olds is all in the exploring of art materials. Teachers encourage their little artists to use their senses to experience the process of art. We provide a variety of activities that include the following: painting, stamping, scribbling, smearing, gluing, sticking etc.

Each of our classrooms are equipped with a sensory table that allows for hands-on exploration of various textures, materials, etc. You will be amazed at the variety of activities we plan, to engage children and their five senses.

Imagining Together
Everyday we make time to gather and share stories. Being together allows us to get to know our friends and play learning games. During this time, we also sing and dance as we learn new songs and listen to music.
Literacy and Reading Aloud
Each day we set aside time to read together. Our read-alouds encourage us to learn new words as we read simple, repetitive stories with predictable text. Puppets, flannel stories, writing books and language games are just some of the ways we engage in literacy skills.
Meals & Snacks
We provide our Twos with nutritious foods for daily meals and snacks. We help children develop independence and good eating habits. Intimate, classroom dining allows children to eat at their own pace in a familiar environment. Teachers and children sit and eat together, sharing good food and conversation.
Outdoor Fun & Exercise
At Creative World, our classroom learning extends to the outdoors as our teachers plan daily, interactive outdoor enrichments. You will find games, water play, sand play, books and chalk in our outdoor "classrooms". Each class is scheduled for outside time twice daily in an age appropriate play area. Our play equipment on each playground meets the highest standards and is designed to maximize fun and safety for all ages.

CW University oversees our teacher training program which provides training in the following areas:
Curriculum, Health and Safety, Literacy, Childcare Standards, Positive Guidance and Developmental Assessment
In addition, Creative World teachers participate in required background screenings, undergo Tri-Yearly Corporate Inspections, are CPR Certified, and attend monthly staff training sessions.

Creative World schools connect with each of our communities. We help young children learn about where they live by inviting local experts,
such as firefighters, librarians, dentists, veterinarians, etc. to come share about their role in the community.
We model how to give back as we participate in food drives, clothing drives and other philanthropic programs.

Quality children's literature is displayed in an inviting manner to encourage children to read and explore books. A quiet corner of the room with comfortable chairs and soft areas is established to give children an opportunity to interact with books.

A variety of different types of paper and writing utensils should be rotated in this center to encourage children's experimentation with writing. Children become authors and writers in this center. They are invited to share emergent writing skills or dictate to teachers their own words for books or illustrations. These early experiences with writing make print accessible for young children and give them a firm foundation for later reading and writing development.
